They don't stack. Diamond Armlets simply change the chest loot from one table to another.
About 95% of the chests in the game are better off without it equipped. The only area where you -need- to have it equipped is Cherobi Steppes, because all of the good loot is hidden behind Diamond Armlet loot table.
It is worth procuring the armlet early for its Lightning-protection, though its effect on treasure loot is not really notable unless the player wants to collect Knots of Rust and Meteorites.
The diamond armlet can be looted from a chest in the first trial stage and makes you immune to lightning attacks. Pro-tip, for those who don't remember, you can get it in Dalmasca Westersand / Windtrace Dunes.
In the game, there is a classification of item known as “Loot.” Loot is meant not to be held onto, but rather, it's meant to be sold. Since enemies are so damn stingy with their funds, this is going to be an important (and primary) source of your income.
